Walk

Weracoba Park

Locals call it "Lakebottom" because the park's original lake was drained in 1926. Today it has walking trails along Weracoba Creek, tennis and basketball courts, baseball and soccer fields, and a playground. It's the neighborhood's front yard for runners, dog walkers and families.

Walk

MidTown destinations

Historic Wynnton Road connects Lakebottom to the Columbus Museum, Wynnton Arts Academy, Columbus High School and a run of local shops, restaurants and services. The Columbus Public Library and the Columbus Aquatic Center are a short trip away.

Bike

Fall Line Trace & RiverWalk

The paved Fall Line Trace rail-trail runs along MidTown's northern edge. It links west to the Chattahoochee RiverWalk at 14th Street in Uptown, and the RiverWalk itself is about a mile from MidTown. Check a safe connection from your exact address before planning a regular ride.

By car

Many daily trips from Lake Bottom involve a car. Wynnton Road and 13th Street lead straight into Uptown, Macon Road connects east, and I-185 runs along MidTown's eastern edge. Drive times are approximate and assume typical traffic.

Parking: Lakebottom is a residential neighborhood, not a metered district. Ask about the parking arrangements and any fees for the specific rental. For Uptown trips, check current garage locations and terms with the city.
